Description Brass, block “I” button-Infantry. One of several variations of the block “I” button that were widely imported and manufactured domestically by the Confederacy. While technically the regulation Infantry Officer’s button, this type of button appears on both officer and enlisted uniforms in large quantities. Made by Waterbury, U.S.A. Available in sizes: Large, approximately 7/8″, used on Great Coats and Frock Coats. Small, approximately 5/8″, used on Caps, Vests, Cuffs, Overcoat Capes, etc.
