Description Our shelter halves feature double-sewn center seam, top and bottom reinforcements, and machine-done button holes with rope for stakes. Our shelter halves are made without brass grommets, which were a MUCH later development. Made of heavy-duty 12oz canvas with 23 pewter 4-hole 5/8″ buttons per half. Each half is approx. 64” x 64”, but may vary due to material width from the loom. Each soldier carried a shelter half and when he bunked down with his pard for the night, the two halves were buttoned together to make one tent.
