Description True RARE Custer Era Indian war period receiver. This original Model 1873 Receiver # 27081 that was produced in 1874. It has a blue, brown attractive even patina with a few minor bumps and bruises. It will fit and function perfect in any Springfield 45-70. The Barrel and Tang Threads are in great condition. If you are planning to build a Custer Carbine or rifle and or repair an existing 45-70 this receiver will work fine. Pre Custer receivers are rare and very difficult to locate.
